Capital Credits Choice
You may have capital credit retirements available at the end of this year. Cooperative members share in the ownership, construction, maintenance and prosperity of their electric utility. When financial conditions allow, eligible members get their share of the margins, called capital credits.
The Boone Electric Cooperative Board of Directors will soon decide the dollar amount of the capital credits to return to members this year if the co-op is in the financial position to do so. Members may choose how they wish to receive their portion of the capital credits.* The option you selected in previous years is retained until you make a change. Fill this form out ONLY if a change is desired. Select one of the options on the form on this page. Members who are eligible** to receive capital credits but do not make a selection will automatically receive a check by mail in late December.
* Any member with a balance that is past due more than 30 days will automatically have the capital credit retirement applied to their account. Any amount received over the past due amount will appear as a bill credit.
** If you have been a co-op member for less than one year and/or your capital credit amount is less than $29.95 (service fee), your share will be returned to you in a future year.
